| Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes turned the Coliseum into an Asbury
Park bar during their 1981 performance at the Coliseum. According to Daily
Athenaeum Entertainment Writer Mike Tomasky, the Jukes powered through
their version of R & B and rock classics "Fever," "Talk to Me," "I
Don't Wanna Go Home" and "We're Havin' a Party."
Tomasky noted that the band's performance of a medley of James Bond theme songs was one of the treats of the night, complimenting the brass section and calling the arrangement "perfectly suited to the power of the band and mood of the crowd." The performance was part of the Homecoming festivities. |
