Break-out hip-hop artist Playboi Carti and Bronx-bred rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie made their WVU Coliseum debut Sept. 14, 2019.  An enthusiastic crowd packed the Coliseum after the Mountaineers defeated NC State 44-27 earlier that afternoon.

Just a few years after edging into Atlanta’s hip-hop underground, Playboi Carti’s first album debuted  at No. 12 on the Billboard 200. Since then his chart-busting singles like “Magnolia” and “wokeuplikethis*” have embodied his deeply experimental but hook-heavy sound. His next album “Die Lit” debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and amassed more than 82 million streams in its first week. Pitchfork praised it as a “57-minute sugar high that’s even wilder, more disorienting and infectious than its predecessor.” Read what Playboi Carti has been doing since the concert here.

Twenty-year-old Bronx-bred rapper Artist Dubose, better known as A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, first hit the rap scene with his breakout hit “Still Think About You.” XXL Magazine dubbed him “one of the hottest and newest up-and-comers in hip-hop” and listed him in its 2017 Freshman Class. A Boogie’s latest album, “Hoodie SZN” featured his popular single “Swervin.” Read about Boogie's latest project.

This concert marked the first time these two artist performed as part of the same show.
