with Special Guest Ken Mellons
SHOW DATE: Saturday, September 3, 1994 • 7:30pm | ||
Billy Ray Cyrus' performance at the WVU Coliseum came two years after his
single "Achy Breaky Heart" became a phenomenon and spawned a line dance
of the same name. His concert in Morgantown was part of a national tour
in support of his album "It Won't Be the Last," which became his second
No. 1 album and delivered the hits “In the Heart of a Woman,” “Words
By Heart” and “Somebody New."
"Billy Ray Cyrus more than satisfied five and a half thousand fervent fans Saturday night at the Coliseum," wrote The Daily Athenaeum's Life Editor John Richardson. "By the time Billy Ray made his entrance, the atmosphere in the Coliseum had intensified so that the very air was charged with an excited, almost tangible sense of anticipation." The average ticket price was $20.00. If you are from Fairmont, W.Va, you may have purchased your ticket at the Rider Pharmacy on Merchant Street. The most sought-after merchandise item sold at the show were 8 x 10 glossy photographs of Billy Ray. |
