About the Event.

Five-time Grammy Award-winner Michael McDonald has been a fixture of American music for more than three decades. From his early work with Steely Dan, through his prosperous years with The Doobie Brothers and on to his incredible solo career, McDonald has been internationally recognized for his contributions to the industry. The blue-eyed soul singer ushered in The Doobie Brothers' most popular era with songs such as "Takin' It to the Streets," "What a Fool Believes" and "Minute by Minute." Throughout his career, McDonald's voice—that dark chocolate tone, the husky vibrato, the keening falsetto—has made him the world's most sought-after session singer. He has lent his voice to records by such celebrated artists as Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Kenny Loggins and Christopher Cross. Now on the heels of his acclaimed crossover album Soul Speak, Michael McDonald brings his signature voice to the intimate atmosphere of the Creative Arts Center.
