About the Event

Conventional wisdom has it that Amy Grant put contemporary Christian music on the map. Her career spans nearly 30 years and stretches from her roots in gospel music into an iconic pop star, songwriter, television personality and philanthropist. Her repertoire includes pop chart–topping songs: “Baby Baby” and “Every Heartbeat;” and Contemporary Christian maninstays: “Father's Eyes,” “Lead Me On” and “El Shaddai.” She has shaped the Christian music landscape, opening the door for artists in all genres to sing about faith and soul and family, and still grasp stardom. As the first contemporary Christian artist to have a platinum record, the first to hit No. 1 pop and only the second to be awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Grant is well-deserving of her six Grammys, numerous Dove Awards, 10 Top 40 pop singles and 17 Top 40 Adult Contemporary singles. Her latest record, Somewhere Down the Road, is a potent collection that takes the listener on a musical journey that reverberates with messages of resiliency, promise and hope, and includes the tracks “Better Than a Hallelujah“ and “Unafraid.”
