About the Event

Virginia cool meets Kentucky thunder in a quintessential collaboration between multi-instrumentalist virtuoso Ricky Skaggs and genre-bending pianist Bruce Hornsby. The pair who, combined, lay claim to an astonishing 15 Grammy awards, teamed up for a major CMT Crossroads television event to accompany their recent bluegrass record, Ricky Skaggs & Bruce Hornsby. Now is your chance to see them live on stage in the intimate atmosphere of the Creative Arts Center. The masterful Skaggs is affectionately known as bluegrass music’s official ambassador, with 13 Grammys, eight Country Music Association awards, and nearly 40 albums under his belt. His songs “Cajun Moon,” “Heartbroke,” and “Country Boy” have defined generations of bluegrass. Critics have hailed rock musician Bruce Hornsby as a “musical shape shifter” with songs like “Mandolin Rain,” “The Valley Road,” and “Every Little Kiss.” His Grammy award-winning single “The Way It Is” was the most played song on American radio in 1987.
