About the Event
The Coasters were dominating the charts in one of the most formidable runs of the rock and roll era. The group placed 14 songs on the R&B charts, eight of which crossed over to the pop Top 40. “Searchin,” “Young Blood,” “Yakety Yak,” “Charlie Brown.” The Platters were one of the top vocal groups of the ‘50s, delivering smooth, stylized renditions of pop standards, including “The Great Pretender,” “My Prayer,” “Twilight Time,” and “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes.” The Drifters epitomized the vocal group sound of New York City. “Such A Night,” “Honey Love,” “There Goes My Baby,” “Save the Last Dance for Me.” See all three of these Rock and Roll Hall of Fame greats in an unforgettable evening of classic doo-wop.
