March 10 at 7:30pm · Charleston Civic Center Little Theater

Arianna Huffington has made a prolific career out of writing about politics. She is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post, a news and blog Web site that has quickly become one of the most widely read media brands on the Internet. She is a nationally syndicated columnist and has authored 11 critically acclaimed books. She also co-hosts Left, Right & Center, public radio’s popular political roundtable program.
Huffington's newest book, Right is Wrong: How the Lunatic Fringe Hijacked America, Shredded the Constitution, and Made Us All Less Safe, explores why, in her opinion, the government is at odds with the American people and why it continues to push the nation back into the “dark ages.” The book will be released on April 29.
Born in Athens, Greece, Huffington moved to England when she was 16 and graduated from the prestigious Cambridge University, where she was president of the famed debating society, the Cambridge Union. In 2006, she was named to Time Magazine’s list of the world’s 100 most influential people.
Her most personal book, On Becoming Fearless . . . In Love, Work and Life offers insight into how to be bold, how to say what needs to be said and do what needs to be done in order to find the freedom to love, lead and succeed. She also authored Fanatics and Fools: The Game Plan for Winning Back America, which offers a bold approach on how to restore the country to the promise envisioned by our greatest leaders, and the New York Times bestseller Pigs at the Trough: How Corporate Greed and Political Corruption are Undermining America.
Huffington's How to Overthrow the Government, on the need for reformation in American politics was published in 2000. Her other books include the political satire, Greetings from the Lincoln Bedroom, the biographies, Picasso: Creator and Destroyer and The Woman behind the Legend, and The Gods of Greece, which celebrates the power of myths as guides to forgotten dimensions of life.
Huffington has also made guest appearances on popular television shows, including The Oprah Winfrey Show, Charlie Rose, Larry King Live and Real Time with Bill Maher. She also serves on several boards that promote community solutions to social problems, including A Place Called Home. Additionally, she is on the Board of Trustees for the Archer School for Girls.
