About the Show
Since his debut in 1999, Brad Paisley has been showered with five Country Music Association awards and 27 nominations. In 2000, Paisley won the CMA Horizon Award and the Academy of Country Music's best new male vocalist trophy and received his first Grammy nomination in 2001 in the all-genre best new artist category. However, his most treasured honor of all is his 2001 induction to the Grand Ole Opry.
With a solid string of top 10 songs and number one hits including "Celebrity," I'm Gonna Miss Her," "Mud on the Tires," "We Danced" and "Wrapped Around," his fans know him for his humorous lyrics, heartfelt vocals and traditional sound. His most recent release, "Time Well Wasted (Arista Nashville)," earned him five nominations at this year's CMA Awards, including Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. The album has also delivered the hit "Alcohol" and its latest single "When I Get Where I'm Going," featuring Dolly Parton, is steadily moving up the charts.
Female country traditionalist Sara Evans has become one of country music's most popular performers. Her latest release, "Real Fine Place," debuted at number one on Billboard's Top Country Album chart and at number three on the Top 200 Album chart. The album's debut single "A Real Fine Place to Start" is among Evan's long list of number-ones, including "Suds in the Bucket," "Born to Fly" and "No Place That Far." Entertainment Weekly says, "No woman currently does big country with more class and better hooks." Nominated at this year's CMAs for Female Vocalist of the Year and Best Musical Event of the Year for her duet with Paisley titled "New Again," she has been hailed by Billboard Magazine as "country's next female superstar."
Singer/songwriter Billy Currington captures "the lives of hard-working people who often live off the beaten path" in his music. His sophomore album on Mercury Records, "Doin' Somethin' Right," reached number 2 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. Country fans will recognize
Currington's soulful Southern voice from his hits "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right," "I Got a Feelin'," "Walk a Little Straighter," and "Party for Two," his duet with Shania Twain.
